Gerry not only offered instruction to aspiring artists, he also helped them become established in the profession, as he did for Adelaide Palmer. Born in Orford, New Hampshire, Palmer became an active member of the Boston art community in the late 19th century. She maintained a summer home in New Hampshire and returned often to sketch and paint. This landscape shows a scene in Piermont, New Hampshire, where her summer home was located.
